New ten­ants began mov­ing into the first com­pleted homes this week at a 30-home afford­able hous­ing devel­op­ment under con­struc­tion in the West­side Sub­di­vi­sion in Tuolumne.

It’s a sig­ni­fic­ant mile­stone for the Tuolumne Band of Me-wuk Indi­ans, the tribe’s Tuolumne Eco­nomic Devel­op­ment Agency, also known as TEDA, and Tuolumne County as a whole because afford­able hous­ing has been in short sup­ply in the county for dec­ades.
